Privacy Policy

1. Overview

This site collects no data of its own. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics or tracking scripts, and has no contact form or account system — the documentation search on /docs runs entirely in your browser, against an index file built when the site is deployed, without contacting any server. The only data recorded about your visit is what GitHub Pages, our hosting provider, logs automatically for every request.

3. Hosting

This website is hosted by:

GitHub, Inc.
88 Colin P. Kelly Jr. Street
San Francisco, CA 94107
United States

GitHub's servers process technical access data for every request — such as IP address, the page requested and the time of access — to operate and secure the service. This processing is necessary to provide the website and rests on our legitimate interest in doing so securely and reliably (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). See GitHub's own Privacy Statement for how it handles this data.

4. Legal basis

This website asks for no consent because it collects no data that would need it: no cookies, no forms, no accounts. The one processing activity that occurs — GitHub's own server logs — rests entirely on our legitimate interest under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR in operating a secure, reliable website.

5. Storage duration

We do not control how long GitHub retains its own server logs. Personal data we process ourselves, should that ever change, is kept only for as long as the purpose it was collected for requires.

6. Your rights

Under the GDPR, you have the right to:

In practice, a request against us personally will usually come back empty: as Section 1 says, we hold no personal data of our own about you. The only processing that engages these rights at all is GitHub's own hosting logs (Section 3) — for those, you can also contact GitHub directly.

To exercise any of these, contact us using the details above or in the Legal Notice.
